The founder of “Acorn Workshop” (橡實) was inspired by the “Acorn Theory” introduced by James Hillman, which expresses that unique something that we carry into the world, that is particular to us, which is connected to our "daimon," a gate to our own futures.
The founder believes that every child has his/her own freewill and leading them to find their own future is the parents responsibility. The workshop was founded based on this concept and futher extended to adults as well. The core is bring peace to people through zentangle and pastel nagomo art and help them explore their own paths.
THE DESIGN APPROACH
Inspired by the zentangle and the belif that everyone is a diamond in the rough, the doodle, random circles are created to reflect the concept, implying that drawing is an enjoyable and playful time to explore the mind. As for the logo in Mandarin charactors (橡實), the shape of 橡實 was transformed to imitate the shape of acorn with organic outline.
The letterpress was finished by rosegold foil stamping to express the image of “hope” and “value” of individuals.
