Andy Lai is a coffee roaster who was a chemical engineer before his retirement. He leverages his knowledge in chemical engineering to master coffee roasting and making himself. His philosophy is that every type of coffee bean has its optimal way to roast so he promises precise roasting with data recorded for years. More than 500 times experiments are conducted for each type of bean to ensure the optimal and unique taste it is meant to deliver.

The name of the brand "LAIB" is the combination of "LAI" and "LAB". It is also the abbreviation of "LIFE AT ITS BEST", which reflects his belief in coffee roasting―every type of coffee bean has its optimal status, and so does life.
